Decendent identification, also identification, is an important part of a death investigation.
Usual means of identification:
- Visual (facial).
- Circumstantial - right place, locked premises, personal identification.
- Fingerprints.
- Dental.
- Skeletal features - see forensic anthropology.
- DNA - see identity testing.
