We are happy to announce that Libre Pathology has gone https.

What is https?

HTTPS (commonly https in the browser address bar) is (in short) the secure version of HTTP. HTTP (often seen written http) is hypertext transfer protocol the open data communication standard for the World Wide Web (www).

Why the change?

We wanted to enhance privacy and security. We also believe that we are joining good company, e.g. Wikipedia, PubMed.

Thanks

A very big thanks goes to the project Let's Encrypt (https://letsencrypt.org). Their effort spurned us to go https and they provide us with certificates your web browser recognizes.

Beyond that, we thank the folks at Debian (https://debian.org) and our hosting provider. They made the implementation relatively painless.
