Uterine isthmocele

Uterine isthmocele, also cesarean scar pouch, niche, cesarean scar defect, is pseudocyst that arises from cesarean section at uterine incision site.

General

  • Clinical diagnosis.
  • It may be assocatied with secondary infertility;[1] thus, it may be surgically removed.

Microscopic

Features:

  • Smooth muscle with fibrosis/scar.
  • +/-Chronic inflammation.
