Uterine isthmocele, also cesarean scar pouch, niche, cesarean scar defect, is pseudocyst that arises from cesarean section at uterine incision site.
General
- Clinical diagnosis.
- It may be assocatied with secondary infertility;[1] thus, it may be surgically removed.
Microscopic
Features:
- Smooth muscle with fibrosis/scar.
- +/-Chronic inflammation.
DDx:
- Endometriosis (external aspect of uterus).
- Adenomyosis.
