Satellitosis is the presence of separate tumour nodules that are close to the tumour.
General
- Uncommon.[1]
- Poor prognosticator.
- Melanoma.[1]
- Hepatocellular carcinoma.[2]
Gross
- Should be <2 cm from the tumour.[3]
Note:
- Tumour nodules further away are in-transit metastases or tumour deposits (in colorectal carcinoma).
