Squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue is a common head and neck cancer.

It is a subset of squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck which is dealt with in the squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck article.

  • Best histologic predictors of behaviour:[1]
    • Depth of invasion.
    • Growth pattern (satellites or small cell islands).
