Lupus erythematosus cell

Lupus erythematosus cell, abbreviated LE cell, is neutrophil that has engulfed an intact nucleus.[1] This is seen in systemic lupus erythematosus.
It is also known as a LE body.

- Initially described in bone marrow.[2]

- Neutrophil that has engulfed a round blue body on H&E.
