Indefinite for dysplasia is a waffle diagnosis common in gastrointestinal pathology.
General
- Should be used sparingly.
Classification
Based on dysplasia in IBD, dysplasia is classified:[1]
- Negative for dysplasia.
- Indefinite for dysplasia.
- Low grade dysplasia.
- High grade dysplasia.
Microscopic
Features:
- Surface cannot be seen - classic indication.
- No erosion.
DDx:
- Low grade dysplasia.
- Reactive changes.
