Hydronephrosis

Hydronephrosis is swelling of the kidney.

Causes:

• Obstruction due to aberrant artery (Dietl's crisis).
• Nephrolithiasis (kidney stones).
• Nodular hyperplasia of the prostate gland.
• Obstruction due to a malignancy.
  • Urothelial carcinoma.
  • Prostatic carcinoma.
  • Other cancers.
