Enterogenous cyst

General

Features: [1]

  • Also known as neuroenteric or endodermal cyst.
  • Cervical and thoracic segments of the spine are most often affected.
  • intraspinal, extramedullary.
  • 0.7-1.3% of spinal axis lesions[2]
  • may be associated with bone malformations.


Histology

  • simple columnar or cuboidal ciliated and nonciliated goblet cells
  • basement membrane or collagenous tissue
  • usually surrounding a central cystic cavity


Immunohistcohemistry

  • CK+ve
  • CEA+ve
  • EMA+ve
  • CK7+/-ve
