Biliary dyskinesia

Biliary dyskinesia is a hypomotility disorder of the biliary tract. It is an indication for cholecystectomy.[1]
General
- Clinical diagnosis - based on radiology.
- Definition: gallbladder ejection fraction (GBEF) <35%.[1]
Symptoms:
- Chronic abdominal pain.[2]
Clinical DDx:
Microscopic
Features:
- Non-specific findings[1] or features of chronic cholecystitis[2] - dependent on study.

Gallbladder, Cholecystectomy:
- Gallbladder with mild chronic inflammation without entrapped
epithelial crypts.
Comment:
The clinical finding of biliary dyskinesia is noted.
