Indefinite for dysplasia

Indefinite for dysplasia is a waffle diagnosis common in gastrointestinal pathology.

General

  • Should be used sparingly.

Classification

Based on dysplasia in IBD, dysplasia is classified:[1]

  • Negative for dysplasia.
  • Indefinite for dysplasia.
  • Low grade dysplasia.
  • High grade dysplasia.

Microscopic

Features:

  • Surface cannot be seen - classic indication.
