DNA sequence comparison is component of molecular pathology.

This is still somewhat in flux.[1]

Basic local alignment search tool

Using BLAST

  1. Go to BLAST web site ( http://blast.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/Blast.cgi ).
  2. Enter sequence.
  3. Enter consensus sequence (can be found with OMIM).
  4. Hit enter.
