Crazy paving, also crazy paving pattern, is a radiologic finding with a longer differential diagnosis.

The classic cause from the pathology perspective is:

• Pulmonary alveolar proteinosis.

A more general DDx is:

• Diffuse alveolar damage (acute respiratory distress syndrome, acute interstitial pneumonia).
• Pulmonary alveolar proteinosis.
• Bronchopneumonia.
