Adenoid cystic/basal cell carcinoma of the prostate, abbreviated ACBCC, is a rare from of prostate cancer that resembles adenoid cystic carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma.
General
- Rare.
- Typically indolent - may be aggressive.[1]
Microscopic
Features:
- Adenoid cystic carcinoma-like and basal cell adenoma-like:
- Nests of cells that have round spaces filled by whispy blue mucin.
- Dense collagenous stroma.
