General
- Rare.
- History should be compelling.
Clinical:
- +/-Hematuria seen in 12-31% of cases.[1]
Gross
- Typically in cortex close to the glomerular vascular plexus.[2]
Microscopic
Features:
- Malignant neoplasm - morphology dependent on site of origin and type.
Note:
- Urothelial carcinoma may be confused with squamous cell carcinoma of the lung.
DDx:
- Unclassified renal cell carcinoma.
- Primary adenocarcinoma of the renal pelvis[3] - if the tumour is adenocarcinoma.
