UTERINE CERVIX, BIOPSY: - SQUAMOUS INTRAEPITHELIAL LESION, FAVOUR HIGH-GRADE -- SMALL FOCUS, SEE COMMENT. - BENIGN ENDOCERVICAL EPITHELIUM PRESENT. COMMENT: The cytology has intermediate features. A p16 immunostain strongly marks the full thickness of the thin (abnormal) squamous epithelium seen in the plane of section, and a Ki-67 focally shows positive superficial cells. These findings favour the presence of a high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL). A re-biopsy with close follow-up could be considered.
