Standardized uptake value, abbreviated SUV, is a semi-quantitative measure in PET scans.

Non-small cell lung cancer

The SUV of fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose of the primary tumour is a predictor of lymph node metastases in a multivariate analysis.^[1]
- Cut-off: 9.3.
  - Sensitivity ~75%.
  - Specificity ~54%.
The ratio of the SUV node/SUV primary tumour (SUV_N/SUV_T) is better predictor than the maximal (node) SUV (SUV_max).^[2]
- Cut-off: 0.28.
  - Sensitivity 90%.
  - Specificity 68%.
