Luteinized follicular cyst is a benign finding in gynecologic pathology.

General

  • Benign.

Microscopic

Features:[1]

  • Stratified cuboidal/columnar epithelium-like cells with:
    • Small nuclei and small nucleoli.
    • Cytoplasm may be eosinophilic.
    • Sit on spindled cells (theca interna) that is luteinized.
