Leiomyoblastoma of the stomach, also gastric leiomyoblastoma, is a very rare tumour of the stomach.
General
- This is essentially an epithelioid leiomyoma.[1]
- Many of the old reported cases in the literature probably represent GISTs.[3]
Microscopic
Features:[4]
- Epithelioid (or polygonal) cells with perinuclear clearing - key feature.
DDx:
- Epithelioid gastrointestinal stromal tumour.[3]
- Leiomyosarcoma.
