Evidence-based medicine

Evidence-based medicine describes methods and techniques for a systematic review and clinical practice guidelines based on sound scientific data.

The term was introduced in 1992 to improve the quality of research by transparently documenting the problems with existing research and subsequently developing better research standards. In medical education, this approach teaches clinicans how to understand the results of clinical studies, and determining how best to apply the results to their everyday practice
