TURP granulomas?
PROSTATE TISSUE, TRANSURETHRAL RESECTION OF THE PROSTATE (TURP) CYSTOLITHOLAPAXY: - BENIGN PROSTATIC TISSUE WITH GLANDULAR AND STROMAL PROLIFERATION. - SMALL NON-NECROTIZING GRANULOMAS WITH CENTRAL GIANT CELLS, SEE COMMENT. - FOCAL CALCIFICATIONS. - UROTHELIUM WITH THE CHANGES OF CYSTITIS CYSTICA ET GLANDULARIS. - NEGATIVE FOR MALIGNANCY. COMMENT: The morphology is somewhat atypical for post-TURP granulomas; however, this is favoured in the context of the prior TURP. If there is a clinical suspicion of granulomatous disease this should be worked-up.
