LM variable size irregular vascular channels, red pulp-like disorganized stroma, +/-lymphoid follicles
LM DDx littoral cell angioma
IHC factor VIII +ve, CD31 -ve
Gross red, well-circumscribed
Site spleen

Signs +/-splenic enlargement
Symptoms +/-abdominal pain
Prognosis benign
Treatment observe or splenectomy

Splenic hamartoma, also hamartoma of the spleen, is an uncommon benign lesion of the spleen.

General

  • Benign.
  • Women > men.[1]
  • May cause pain.[2]

Gross

  • Red lesion.
  • Well-circumscribed.

  • Variable size irregular vascular channels
  • Red pulp-like disorganized stroma
  • +/-Lymphoid follicles.
