Mesonephric remnant hyperplasia of the prostate gland, also mesonephric remnant, is rare benign finding in the prostate gland that can be confused with malignancy.

General

  • Very rare.[1]
  • Can mimic prostate carcinoma.

Microscopic

Features:[1]

  • Small glands with small bland appearing cuboidal cells in a lobular arrangement.

DDx:[1]

IHC

Features:[1]

  • PAX8 +ve.
  • PSA -ve (all).
  • CK34betaE12 +ve/-ve (diffuse +ve in 4/7 cases)
  • p63 -ve.
  • AMACR +ve (focal).
