Klinefelter syndrome, abbreviated KS, is a common genetic abnormality in men.

Prevalence

  • 1 in 500 males.[1]

  • Male phenotype.
  • Karyotype usu. 47 XXY.
  • Long/tall.
  • Infertile.
  • Nondisjunction of sex chromosomes.
  • Eunuchoid body proportions.
  • FSH elevated, minimal Facial & axillary hair.
  • Estradiol/testosterone ratio elevation.
  • LH elevated, Leukemias risk increase (AML), Learning disability.
  • Testosterone low.
  • Small penis & testis.
  • Gynecomastia.
