A margin is indeterminate margin when technical factors, orientation or biopsy preclude accurate assessment.

A. Left Partial Kidney, Partial Nephrectomy:
     - CLEAR CELL RENAL CELL CARCINOMA.
-- Renal parenchymal specimen margin positive, see comment.
     -- Please see synoptic report.

B. Left Kidney Margin, Re-excision:
     - Benign renal parenchyma.
     - NEGATIVE for malignancy.

Comment:
Overall, the margin status is indeterminate as the exact anatomical relationship between Part A and Part B is unknown.

If the margin re-excision (Part B) was at the location of the positive specimen margin in Part A, the margins are clear overall. Clinical correlation is required.
