Esophageal cancer is a malignant neoplasm of the esophagus.
It includes:
- Adenocarcinoma of the esophagus - typically at the gastroesophageal junction.
- Squamous cell carcinoma of the esophagus - typically the proximal two thirds of the esophagus.
