Electrodesiccation and curettage

Electrodesiccation and curettage, abbreviated EDC, is a procedure in which:

  1. The lesion is cut-off.
  2. The surgical site is cauterized using electricity (electrodesiccation).
  3. The electrodesiccated tissue is scrapped off (curettage).
