Colonic pseudo-obstruction

Colonic pseudo-obstruction is an uncommon pathology of the colon that rarely comes to pathology.

Ogilvie's syndrome is an acute colonic pseudo-obstruction.[1]

General

  • Uncommon seen in pathology.
  • Usually managed conservatively.[2]
  • May lead to perforation.
  • Associated with chronic illness.

Gross

  • Left side lesion.[3]
