Chronic granulomatous disease

Chronic granulomatous disease is a (specific) diagnosis (as well as a category). It is disorder of phagocytes and leads to widespread granulomas.[1]

General

  • Five different genetic defects have been identified that cause the disease.
  • Increase susceptibility to infections.
