The article touches digital ISO, i.e. ISO settings for digital cameras.

General

  • ISO adjusts the gain of the sensor.
  • Each camera has its own native ISO, which is dependent on the chip, and cannot be adjusted.[1]
  • Shoot below the native ISO degrades the picture.[2]

Rebel XSi

The native ISO is ~ 200.[3][4]
