Rheumatoid lung disease

Rheumatoid lung nodule, also rheumatoid nodule of the lung, is an uncommon benign lung lesion associated with rheumatoid arthritis.

General

• RF +ve.

Microscopic

Features:

• Mixed inflammatory infiltrate.
• +/-Giant cells.

Dx:

• Necrotic pulmonary nodule in Crohn's disease.
• Infectious pneumonia.

• ZN stain -ve for AFB.
