The tonsil is a head and neck ditzel.

It is often removed for:

Tonsillitis.

The other pathologies:

Squamous dysplasia of the head and neck.
Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma - esp. MALT lymphoma.
HPV-associated head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
Squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck.
Nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
