Cisterna chyli

Cisterna chyli is a structure of the lymphatic system at inferior aspect of the thoracic duct.[1]

Gross

  • Location: vertebral level of T10 to L3.[1]
  • Size range: 2 to 32 mm.[1]

Microscopic

  • Thin-walled lymphovascular space.

DDx:

  • Lymphangioma.

IHC

  • D2-40 +ve.
  • CD31 +ve.
  • ERG +ve.
