Microscopic

The sections show squamous epithelium with focal glycogenation. A granular cell layer and thin stratum corneum are present. No epithelial nuclear enlargement and no mitotic activity are noted. Scattered perivascular mononuclear cells and melanophages are present in the superficial dermis.

Labia, right, biopsy:
- REACTIVE EPITHELIUM.
- NEGATIVE FOR DYSPLASIA AND NEGATIVE FOR MALIGNANCY.

Micro=

The sections show skin with mild acanthosis, a compact keratin layer and a prominent granular cell layer. There is no significant nuclear enlargement or irregularity of the nuclear membranes. Mild spongiosis is present. No mitotic activity is appreciated. No significant inflammation is present.
