Carbonic anhydrase 9, abbreviated CA9, is a common immunostain used in genitourinary pathology.
General
- Several clones available - clone M75 most common.[1]
Staining
Positive
- Clear cell renal cell carcinoma.[2]
- Epithelioid mesothelioma.[3]
- Benign mesothelium.[4]
Note:
- One paper found that:
- Fibroadenoma ~29% of cases.[5]
- Breast carcinoma ~62% of cases.[5]
Negative
