If you have any questions about the mechanics of editing, don't hesitate to ask. With regard to the abstract, I still have the presentation I did on editing. Looking back, it is a bit rough around the edges -- but if you are interested I can send them your way. Welcome to Libre Pathology!
I see you have already made an edit and managed to insert a reference.
A few useful pages:
- Help:How to edit - describes the wiki mark-up.
- Format - describes the format of the site.
- References - describes how references are done quickly -- now fixed.
- LP:Sandbox - a place to try edits.
By the way, you can sign your name on Talk pages and Discussion pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, ask me on my talk page. I look forward to more of your edits. Again, welcome! Michael (talk) 11:34, 3 August 2014 (EDT)
Creating a new page & other things
To create a new page
- Enter the name of the page in the search box at the top right
- Hit return
- Click "Create" (it appears at the top-- if one is logged in)
A couple of different ways are described here.
Adding a photo

File uploads on the site are currently disabled-- but any file uploaded to the WikiCommons ( http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page ) can be added by just adding the name of the file name on the WikiCommons.
For example:

Grabs the file http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Atypical_ductal_hyperplasia_-_very_high_mag.jpg and creates a local copy.
The result is seen below:
Feel free to play in the Sandbox -- it is for trying out edits.

Standard headings...
The standard headings for a diagnosis article are in the Format article under the section Diagnosis article.
If you copy and paste what is in the box below-- it is a good start to a page:
==General== ==Gross== ==Microscopic== ==Stains== ==IHC== ==Molecular== ==Sign out== ==See also== ==References== 1

Pityriasis rubra pilaris
I added a bit to the topic... as I try to avoid empty pages. I can't say I know much about pityriasis rubra pilaris (PRP). The only place it shows up otherwise is in the inflammatory skin article (it is in a DDx for regular psoriasiform dermatitis). Feel free to mercilessly edit the PRP article. Desmoid tumour
I see you managed to upload some images. :-)
I am wondering what you mean by "Syndromic desmoids (~5%)" in the desmoid tumour article. Is that 5% of desmoids are syndromic? Do you have a reference?
I try to reference pretty much everything... so people can read where I got something from and scrutinize that source-- if they don't want to believe something. Michael (talk) 03:04, 3 October 2014 (EDT)
Editing
You can sign messages with four tildes ~~~~.
If you have any questions about the mechanics of editing, don't hesitate to ask. With regard to the abstract, I still have the presentation I did on editing. Looking back, it is a bit rough around the edges -- but if you are interested I can send them your way. Michael (talk) 01:26, 9 October 2014 (EDT)
References
I realized that Slide 13 (of the editing presentation I sent you) is not well explained.
The simplest reference consists of:

If you want a reference with a hyperlink:

By convention, I have done them this way on Libre Pathology:

The set of double curly braces is used to invoke a template (such as the Citation template used with PubMed references).
I changed the references in Metaphyseal fibrous defect and will tweak the article a bit soon. It is a great start! Michael (talk) 02:51, 15 October 2014 (EDT)
