Zenker's diverticulum is an outpouching of the mucosa and submucosa at the junction of the pharynx and esophagus.
It is also known as diverticulum cricopharyngeal, pharyngoesophageal diverticulum and hypopharyngeal diverticulum.[1]

- Squamous cell carcinoma may arise from it.[2]
