Painful skin lesions are Blue ANGEL:^[1]^[2]

Notice that many are vascular (e.g. glomus tumor) or have a prominent vascular component (e.g. spiradenoma) - throbbing blood vessels.
Several of are or neural origin - tweaked nerves.
