Cap polyposis is a very rare gastrointestinal pathology.
General
- Extremely rare.
- Benign.[1]
- Association with colitis cystica profunda.[2]
Gross
- Abundant polypoid lesions.
- Erosions.
Microscopic
Features:[1]
- Polypoid lesions with granulation tissue caps.
DDx:
- Pseudomembranous colitis.
- Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease).[3]
