Standardized uptake value, abbreviated SUV, is a semi-quantitative measure in PET scans.

Non-small cell lung cancer

  • The SUV of fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose of the primary tumour is a predictor of lymph node metastases in a multivariate analysis.[1]
  • The ratio of the SUV node/SUV primary tumour (SUVN/SUVT) is better predictor than the maximal (node) SUV (SUVmax).[2]
    • Cut-off: 0.28.
      • Sensitivity 90%.
      • Specificity 68%.
