Rapid on-site evaluation, abbreviation ROSE, is an immediate assessment of a tissue specimen. It is also known as immediate cytologic evaluation (abbreviated ICE).[1]
It can be used for staging lung cancer.[2]
As the feedback is immediate, inadequate biopsies are reduced and repeat biopsies largely avoided.[3]
