Probable lymphoma
SPECIMEN ADEQUACY Satisfactory for evaluation.
DIAGNOSIS Positive for malignant cells. Scattered single abnormal cells and a rare mitotic figure present are consistent with a large cell lymphoma.
Traumatic tap
SPECIMEN ADEQUACY Satisfactory for evaluation.
DIAGNOSIS Negative for malignant cells. Red blood cells, fibrin and mixed inflammatory cells are present, consistent with a traumatic tap.
