Tumour perforation in colorectal cancer is the conjunction of an intestinal perforation and a colorectal tumour.
It is a clinical diagnosis based on the definition given by Banaszkiewicz et al.;[1] the perforation site does not need to be at the anatomical site of the tumour.
General
- Poor prognosticator.[2]
- Does not affect the stage; however, it been suggested that perforated colorectal carcinoma be considered stage IV.[3]
