Myofibroma is a soft tissue lesion in the group fibroblastic/myofibroblastic tumours.

General

  • Benign.
  • Often < 2 years old; however, may be seen in adults.
  • Not common.[1]

Gross

  • Classically (oral) locations: tongue, buccal mucosa, lip.[1]

Microscopic

Features:[1]

  • Spindle cells with:
    • Tapering nuclei.
    • Eosinophilic cytoplasm.

  • SMA +ve.
  • S-100 -ve,
