Epstein-Barr virus-associated smooth muscle tumour is a very uncommon soft tissue lesion.[1]

General

Microscopic

Features:[1]

  • Smooth muscle lesion:
    • Spindle cells in a fascicular arrangement.
    • Usually minimal nuclear atypia and few mitoses.
  • Lymphocytes.

DDx:

IHC

  • SMA +ve
  • Desmin +ve/-ve.
  • CD34 -ve.
  • CD117 -ve.
