An infarct is tissue that died due to a compromised blood supply. The vascular compromise can be either arterial or venous.
Pathologic classification
- Red (hemorrhagic).
- White (non-hemorrhagic).
Location
A misnomer

Some things in medicine are misnamed. Maternal floor infarct' is one example of this.
