Old cerebral hematoma

Microscopic

The section shows thick fibrous tissue with hemosiderin deposition, many small blood vessels, fibrin and fresh blood.

Diagnosis

SUBDURAL SPACE:
-SUBDURAL HEMATOMA, CHRONIC.

Fresh cerebral hematoma

Microscopic

The section shows dura, arachnoid and small fragments of pia matter with a fresh hematoma on the deep aspect of the dura.

Diagnosis

BRAIN, SUBDURAL SPACE:
-FRESH HEMATOMA.
-NEGATIVE FOR MALIGNANCY.

Blood (hematoma evacuation)

Microscopic

The section contains fresh blood and fibrin. No brain tissue and no meningeal tissue is identified.

Diagnosis

BLOOD CLOT:
- FRESH BLOOD AND FIBRIN. - NEGATIVE FOR MALIGNANCY.
