Epidermal cyst

Microscopic description

The sections show an intact squamous lined cyst with a stratum granulosum, containing keratinaceous debris. There is no inflammation and no evidence of dysplasia.

Final diagnosis

A. Skin, site not specified, biopsy - Epidermal cyst.

No cyst

LESION ("?CYST"), LEFT SHOULDER, EXCISION:
- SKIN AND SUBCUTANEOUS TISSUE WITHOUT SIGNIFICANT PATHOLOGY.
- NO CYST IDENTIFIED.

Micro

The sections show hair bearing skin with an attached lobulated hypodermis. There is no nuclear atypia. No cystic lesion is identified. No significant inflammation is present.
