Spermatocele is a benign pathology typically arising from the epididymis.

General

  • Benign.
  • Cyst of the epididymis (classic).

Clinical:

  • Often asymptomatic.
  • Excised due to pain or mass effect.[2]

Microscopic

Features:

  • Cyst lined by a simple ciliated epithelium.
  • Contain sperm.
    • Head: ~1/2 the size of a RBC, black.
    • Tail: infrequently seen.
