Painful skin lesions are Blue ANGEL:[1][2]

Notice that many of these are vascular (e.g. glomus tumor) or have a prominent vascular component (e.g. spiradenoma) - throbbing blood vessels. Several of these are or neural origin - tweaked nerves.
